‘The Chosen’ is looking for Texas extras for shoots in Midlothian

The historical drama chronicling the life of Jesus has shot across North Texas.

The Chosen, a historical drama chronicling the life of Jesus, is looking for extras with Texas residency.

Brock Allen Casting posted information on several roles to Facebook recently. Among the notices for shoots that will take place in Midlothian next week are opportunities for male actors to portray guards as well as Cain and Abel.

Created by Dallas Jenkins, The Chosen began as a crowdfunded media project in 2017. It has seen runaway success, amassing over 900 million episode views as of 2025, according to a news release for its fifth season, which had its theatrical release in March. It is now available to stream on Prime Video.

Production for the sixth season is underway. The Chosen will ultimately have seven seasons.

In June, the show left its Midlothian studio to film in the south of Italy. The city of Matera doubled as Jerusalem.

In addition to filming in Midlothian, The Chosen has shot at Capernaum Studios outside Fort Worth and South Side Studios in Dallas.

Fans of the show descended upon Dallas’ Hilton Anatole Hotel for the inaugural ChosenCon in 2023.
