A woman and a man died in a rideshare Lyft Wednesday morning when their vehicle was hit by a Trinity Railway Express train, officials said.
Melissa Rose Campanella, 50, was identified by the Dallas County medical examiner‘s office as the woman who died in the crash. The man was identified as Elio Jose Acosta Rojas, 41.
The vehicle collided with a TRE train near Market Center and Harry Hines around 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.
The Lyft vehicle contained a driver and a passenger inside, the rideshare company said.

The vehicle was attempting to bypass the railroad barricade as the train approached, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.
Both the man and the woman died in the collision, Dallas Area Rapid Transit said in a news release.
“Our hearts are with the loved ones of both the driver and the rider following this heartbreaking tragedy,” Lyft said in a statement to The Dallas Morning News.
On July 3, a man was arrested for a shooting that took place on another TRE train that was headed to the Fort Worth Central Station.
