Man facing charges in 2024 death of Denton man from fentanyl overdose, police say

Investigators have accused suspect of selling lethal drug cocktail to victim.

A Denton County man is facing charges in connection with the fatal fentanyl overdose of another man, police said Monday.

Police have accused George Howard Cook II, 45, of Krum, of allegedly selling a drug cocktail that contained a lethal dose of fentanyl to Mark Saltsman, 64, according to a police news release.

Authorities said Cook was being held Monday at the Denton jail, although it was not clear if bond had been set.

The incident happened last December when officers were dispatched to 800 N. Wood St. after a man was found unresponsive at his home, the release said.
