A multivehicle accident killed one person and shut down a section of west Interstate 635 in Irving for hours on Saturday.
Two people were also injured in the crash. They were taken to local hospitals, according to Irving police, but there conditions were unknown late Saturday.
The person who died was identified as 46-year-old Gilbert Wainaina, according to Dallas County medical examiner records.
Irving police said in social media posts that westbound I-635 in Irving would be closed starting at the MacArthur Boulevard exit until at least noon Saturday.

The Texas Department of Transportation posted on X about 4:30 p.m. that all traffic lanes had reopened.
Last weekend, a multivehicle crash in southeast Oak Cliff in Dallas killed four people and shut down Interstate 45 for several hours on Saturday afternoon and evening.
