Flooding risk for D-FW subsides as evening storms dissipate

The National Weather Service issued the flash flood warning until 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.

After storms brought heavy rain to some area of North Texas on Tuesday, parts of Dallas-Fort Worth were once again under a flash flood warning Wednesday evening.

The National Weather Service issued the warning for northeastern Dallas County and northwestern Kaufman County until 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The agency said some areas — including Dallas, Garland, Mesquite and more — could see flash flooding due to thunderstorms.

These regions were also under a flood advisory until 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, the weather service said.

For a second day in a row, the threat of severe weather resulted in a delay to the start of the Kesha concert at Dos Equis Pavilion. Though by 8:45 p.m., the show was able to continue.

Official temperatures are expected to stay slightly cooler Wednesday, with a high of 93 degrees, but it will likely feel hotter for North Texas residents. The heat index, or “feels like” temperature that captures other weather factors, could reach 101 degrees.

Thursday is forecast to be even hotter, with a high of 96 and a heat index of 105 degrees.
